Review: Foodpanda.sg & 4 Fingers Crispy Chicken Delivery

TGIF everybody!! *\O/*
Sorry for the lack of updates (what's new -.-) because I've been busy moving house.
House is still in a mess and resembles the aftermath of a tornado but it's livable.
And because we're no longer a 5 min walk away from any food places (nearest one is a 15 minute walk away and bloody expensive zi char prices too!), my dad has taken to cooking dinner every night.
So last night le chef aka the father had to entertain some clients for dinner hence the bf and I were left to settle our own dinner.
Didn't feel like dropping by the mall to tabao any food home because I was dead beat after work so I decided to order from foodpanda. Yay to the internet and food delivery lol!

First time trying out this service and I was impressed to find several restaurants that I didn't know even had delivery.
I mean when you think of food delivery in Singapore, the first thing that comes into mind is the usual fast food and pizza chains.
But restaurants like Nihon Mura, 4 Fingers Crispy Chicken, Brinda's and even Marble Slab Ice Cream was listed on foodpanda's website. I didn't even know these restaurants did delivery la and they are all compiled into a single website - so convenient!
Another thing to mention is the ease of ordering from foodpanda.
1. Type in your postal code
2. Look for the restaurant of your choice (those that deliver to your area will be listed). foodpanda will also tell you details like delivery time, min order and delivery fees at this stage so you can decided whether you'd like to order from that restaurant.
3. Add your selected food to cart from your choice of restaurant then proceed to checkout
4. Input your details, pay or select cash on delivery then wait for your food to appear!

Ok back to my food.
Being the lazy Singaporean, I asked the bf what he wanted to eat and placed an order for.....4 Fingers Crispy Chicken! Ok my first choice was Nihon Mura but my order went wonky at the checkout and the foodpanda staff actually called me and asked if I wanted to proceed or cancel the order. But I said just cancel and settled for having 4 Fingers Crispy Chicken instead.
Placed the order before I left the office because delivery time was said to be 1h 30min and I thought why not just order first then by the time I reach home I don't have to wait that long for it! (I take approx 40-50 mins to get home from my office).
foodpanda also left me an sms as order confirmation which I thought was a nice gesture.
Delivery fee was super steep though at $10 (some of the restaurants had cheaper delivery fees) and most of the restaurants listed had a minimum order (4 Fingers' one was $30) but I thought 'what the heck la, I don't have to go to town and queue and then go home to eat. So mafan pls!'.
Anyway, the bf told me the food had arrived after 40 mins of placing the order lol.
SUPER FAST!!! Thank goodness he was at home, imagine if no one was in then how?  I was still on the bus home leh.
He also told me it was a foodpanda staff who delivered the food, not staff from 4 Fingers Crispy Chicken.
Onto the food peektures!

Happy bf with our dinner!

FOOD!

Chicken (3 pcs) Rice Box $8.74

Seaweed red pepper skinny fries and 2 portions of kimchi skinny fries $1.70 each

Calamari & shrimp $8.74

I love the chicken from 4 Fingers!

I've always been a strong supporter of food delivery because both the bf and I are extremely lazy people lol (Case in point: There is a McDonald's outlet so near us (~ 10-15mins walk away) but we still choose to pay for delivery and wait that 1 hour odd of waiting time!) which makes foodpanda quite a good website to visit if you want to try something new for food delivery.
Maybe I will use it again for an order of Nihon Mura when I'm feeling lazy.
But I wish the list of restaurants available for delivery would expand further and that the website be more user friendly i.e. allow users to view as large icons instead of listing down as a list because I had to slowly scroll down one by one to view. Maybe next time I will use their app instead to order my food, should be easier to see.
Plus, maybe invest in a food carrier bag thingy that keeps the food warm (bf's suggestion) since it's the foodpanda staff doing the deliveries instead of the individual restaurants doing so. Looks nicer also haha! I always like to watch the McDonald's delivery guy open up his backpack to give me my food :P

Nevertheless, enjoyed our dinner at home - him playing games, me watching Running Man on my iPad in the comfort of my home munching on chicken wings and fries - and best thing is, no need to do the dishes!! Except for that plate I used to put my fries on wtf.
Ahhhh the wonders of food delivery to your doorstep.
Do let me know if you have tried foodpanda's service or something!
Till my next entry, annyeong! :D

Food... glorious food! And.. a new hair colour.

Yup, the title says it all.
So please don't read this when you're hungry hahaha!
I've been on a food spree. Sometimes when I look at my IG feed, I'm like..."Paula you siao makeup and nail polish, not food leh -.-" how come all your pics are mostly food one"
HAHAHAHA. Ok digression, I tend to do that alot actually.
So yeah, here's some pictures of food that I've been enjoying.
I have to say that ever since I've joined my new company, I have yet to ever have fast food for lunch you know O.o

*****
Prawn mee & ngoh hiang at Tanjong Katong area.
Pretty expensive but the prawns were fresh and just delish.
Oh, and the ngoh hiang was quite nice too.

Was feeling stressful after my meetings one day then told the bf that we had to have Korean BBQ that day for dinner!
It has been so long since I've had my serving of samgyupsal /slurps/
This was at Wang Daebak's China Square outlet.
Since I'm still living in Chinatown, Wang Daebak seemed the most appropriate choice plus I really like the concept of the egg being steamed on the pan in front of us.
Must find recipe to recreate gae-ran jjim at home! Me likey this dish alot actually.
But always fail when I attempt to cook it -.-"

Side dishes & our samgyupsal on the grill

Ordered cold noodles, japchae and makkgeolli too that night

Bill came up to close to $100 for 2 pax.
I swear we both were damn shocked but what the heck la.
I was stressed! (most valid reason ever!)

Met up with an ex-colleague to have ban mian at City Plaza but its standards had dropped drastically.
Didn't feel quite 'shuang' about that meal so I suggested going to Jalan Besar for dessert haha (despite her attempts at saying she wanted to drink bubble tea).
Ended up at this quaint little cafe and I enjoyed the truffle pie tremendously!
So did she which was why she ended up 'ta-bao'-ing 2 of them home.

Random yong tau foo shot along the Siglap area.
Fantastic? Nope, not quite.
We paid like $9.30/pax for all that food here and 3 bowls of noodles.
Bloody daylight robbery!
>:(

Last Saturday my friend and I met up to have brunch before heading to a blogshop's warehouse sale in the Sin Ming area.
Totally impromptu plan because I was just telling the bf before heading to bed that I wanted to sleep in till 12pm the next day. Then her WhatsApp message came like 2 mins later lol.
Anyhow, went to GRUB because I've been meaning to try this place for quite some time but without a car it's quite inconvenient to get there.
Since my friend drives, it was the perfect reason to check out this brunch place :P

Here's my portion of french toast which is soooooooooooo fluffehhhhh!

My friend ordered the Grub Breakfast set that came with a drink. She said it was pretty nice.

We also ordered churros! WOHOOOOOOOO *\O/*
Afterwards we went to the sale and gave up cos it was too darn warm to be queuing up along the corridor + the queue was moving fairly slow :(

We had steamboat in the office the next day for lunch.
And then Round 2 came the day after Round 1.
Tee hee, I quite like my this bunch of colleagues.

Finally went to find time to utilise my voucher from Salon Vim at the 313@Somerset outlet.
Went along with the bf because he wanted to get a haircut too hahaha.
Dyed my hair because I wanted to cover up all my grays :(
The explosion of white hair appearing on my head throughout my stay in Europe and China was so horrifying.
I don't know what happened but it got quite out of hand that I just really wanted to colour them all away.

I'm quite pleased with the new colour even though no one has mentioned anything yet.
It's obviously not a very bright and attention-seeking colour but I still like the subtle colour which obviously covered all my white hair la.
Felt like I was betraying my usual hairstylist when I was there but bo bian, got free voucher why don't wanna use right? Lol. I will probably go back to him to get some hair treatment done soon.
HAHAHA like probably...... never.
I don't believe in doing hair treatments because it's expensive leh...
Alright last pic before I go off... chicken rice at Tanglin Halt :D

Fat die Paula with all the fats :(

Hello! Just popping by to say 'Hi'...

Okay the blog really died and went through a phase of no updates.
My bad :(
I'm just swamped with tons of things. I know, everytime use this excuse lol.
Do you know I don't even have time to go and cut my hair?! MAJOR SOBS.
So there's a ton of new things up with me lately.
I went to HK and came back already for a few weeks already.
Trip was a major tiring one, I swear HK 跟我有仇 pls.
Either that or I cannot go HK with my mum anymore haha!
The last time I went to HK with her in 2010, I was ill and totally out for the first few days.
Possibly due to exhaustion because I was involved in a freshmen orientation camp.
Then this trip, my mum fell ill! Like had to go see doctor kind of ill >_<
So yeah, didn't really enjoy much. And I was exhausted too.
Cos having to return from KL and jetting off to HK after 24 hours is utterly mad.
I need to tell myself to really slow down and not be so rushed. I am not 18 anymore T.T
Will post up an entry soon on my HK trip after I settle down.
Which brings me to the next point of why I am so busy------I've been moving house and getting the new place up.
Gosh, being an adult stinks pls!
I had to go buy my own bed and frame, source for my own lighting (Balestier area has so many light shops!), paint my own room, make my own wardrobe and then I gave up and told my mum to find a contractor to do the toilet for me.
In future when I have a marital home, I will hire an interior designer and get them to do everything for me D:
It's just way too exhausting to do everything up on my own.
So anyway, I'm excited to finally have a corner to do my makeup daily.
Will take more pics and put it up on the blog hahah!
Once I settle in ah! Which should be soon because only my wardrobe and toilet sink is not in....
I hope to really just move out of my grandma place because it is quite cramped and live once again in my own room.
Ok, gotta go! The mother just called and told me my Selfridges parcel just arrived today!!
HAPPY MUCH! POST A HAUL SOON BYE BYE!
And remember to see that handsome face on 'You Came From Another Star'!
He's so hot! AND SO IS JEON JI HYUN MY LATEST 女神!
