ok, I just got back from Bali a couple of weeks ago cos we went there to attend my cousin's wedding there.
didn't want to go initially cos firstly, not close with the cousin plus I didn't want to waste my leave (Bali isn't exactly some place I'd like to visit la for now).
but my mum insisted so I had no choice even though I was missing 2NE1's concert in SG on that day (FML seriously) and had to go :(
this trip was a logistical nightmare, given that I had to book so many different type of tickets.
1 single way tix from SG to Bali, 3 tix that returned the day after the wedding and another 6 more that returned 4 days after the wedding plus finally 1 more single way tix from Bali to Jakarta for my mum's relative.
wanted to cry so badly cos KLM was being a bitch (more on that later) when booking the tix and having a bunch of relatives all together on a trip is the worst thing ever.
pls don't ever do that ever again people. you cannot please everyone honestly.
and it's a waste of time to wait for so many god damn people all the time.
really 4 days of nightmare my trip :(
departed on Friday flying KLM for the first time and the staff at Changi Airport already gave us a shitty time.
I didn't do online check-in because I didn't felt the need to do so.
I mean I've flown with so many airlines and never ever did I have to do that and the whole check-in process was always smoothly done.
BUT NO I WAS WRONG COS FOR BLOODY KLM YOU BETTER DO SO.
there was a lady who glumly told us to walk to the machine to do the check-in and print out the boarding passes (yes, paper ones damn kiam pls) and lo and behold, out of 3 machines, only 1 was working.
and my grandmother walks faster than the machine can process the things pls wtf.
and there were easily 6 staff at the counters where you check in your luggage all lounging around doing nothing.
can you imagine my anger? plus we were served by a new staff member who forgot to chop on all our boarding passes.
he only chopped 1 of them and my dad had to walk all the way back to the counter again to get the chop.
you know what's the most annoying thing? there was a more senior staff guiding him when he was doing the checks.
she was busy chit-chatting with her colleague by the side. WTF PLS.
so bad experience no. 1 with KLM here in SG already. read on for the upcoming saga I had on my flight back from Bali with KLM again.
In-flight food. Quite yummy!
Bf was bored hahaha
the flight was comfortable so it kinda appeased me in that sense where even though I encountered shitty ground service, on board the flight it was good.
we landed in Denpasar after around 2 hours of flying and the resort's staff came to pick us up!
we stayed at Grand Mega Resort & Spa Bali (Jalan By Pass Ngurah Rai No. 234, Simpang Siur Kuta-Bali 80361 Indonesia) cos it's owned by my cousin's mom.
all the wedding guests were put up at the resort so quite a number of activities were planned within the hotel itself.
room was pretty awesome! Marce and I got a room facing the poolside :D
The bedroom and half of the toilet
The other half of the toilet
Impressive huh? LOL there was a bathtub with a tv in front of it and a spacious bathroom area.
think the bathroom was as big as the bed area hahahha.
I think the only flaw was the lack of a cupboard. see that pathetic hanging area beside the bathtub? :(
BUT BUT BUT! The staff there were amazing!
they smile and greet you everytime there irregardless of what time it is. like they'd bow and put their palms together to greet you.
really good service I have to say :)
Day 2 woke up really late and missed breakfast hahahahah but we were hungry and the activities didn't start till 12.30pm so... dad and us crossed the road to the mall opposite the resort to have breakfast!
My cheesy hotdog flapjacks
came back to prepare to set off for the church ceremony and found this memo!
all in Bahasa Indonesia. thank you Ibus for teaching me Bahasa Indonesia hahahahah!
I used alot of my BI in Bali and I'm proud to say I haven't lost my touch despite graduating for almost half a year already LOL!
Outfit from Hollyhoque
He was always sleeping non-stop in Bali -.-"
Bought this to try. Quite nice hahah!
actually the theme was meant to be Batik wear for the afternoon and evening.
but honestly, where do you expect me to find a batik top or dress lor D:
sad to say, stood out like a sore thumb (for those of us from SG at least) cos everyone really adhered to the theme.
we had lunch before we set off and here's my mum with the pretty bride!
My new cousin in law :)
her name's Rose hahaha pretty right? ^^
yeah their outfit for the church was really the traditional Balinese costume. #impressed.jpeg
ok more pics cos we were waiting for everyone at the lobby.
Cousin Johannes and his wife's wedding photo
entrance to the pool area
POOL BAR cool or what?
Setting up the stage above the pool for the performance at night
My mummy & me :)
With the bf hahaha
On the bus to the church
took some time for us to reach the church actually cos traffic in Bali is horrible! >:/
we both had a good nap sleeping while on the way there can hahahah.
so the church looked more like a temple from the outside!
but mostly wooden furniture, very Balinese!
Outside of the church
Someone wanted to make friends
Have no idea what this is but they were carrying it in before the bride and groom arrived
Bride & Groom! Being carried in hahahaha like a cool uh
Inside a Balinese Catholic church
Someone trying to read the BI in the book but gave up after 2 lines lol
the whole ceremony lasted for 2 hours and even with my knowledge of BI, I couldn't understand much too.
so was pretty much bored throughout and sweating like mad cos the weather was horrendously warm.
even much more worse than SG actually.
it's a wonder my make-up didn't melt away D:
so when the church part ended, we boarded the bus again and was brought to Tanah Lot!
The scenery in Bali is really impressive!
Newlyweds
brought to a restaurant with an open-air concept to have food I think.
we all thought it was dinner la but uh, the amount of food given was really small.
it was only rice, a plate of kangkong and a plate of BBQ fish, 2 prawns, 2 sotongs and 2 scallops for each of us hahaha.
kinda annoyed with the lack of food cos we were hungry by then.
Paula the photographer D:
Here's my mum and my uncle with the couple
Kecak Dance while we ate
came back to the resort, famished like hell.
wanted to go over to the mall to eat dinner but dinner was served at the cafe at the resort so we had dinner there.
then we bought ice cream at the minimart opposite the resort!
Magnum for me, Paddle Pop for the bf hahah
Rainbow Paddle Pop
Aunt invited some Indonesian singer who is apparantly TMD famous to sing and we watched from our room. Better than squeezing with everyone below leh.
next day they had the tea ceremony in the morning.
everyone wore white. except us D: again D: D:
so they planned even more activities but I didn't want to go.
heard they wanted to go climb some mountain and I was like hell no! but actually they went to the beach in the end lol, still we didn't go.
my father, bf and I went to the mall again for Jap food for lunch then spent about an hour there before coming back and we got a cab from the resort to Kuta Square.
had to get SOS from my colleagues in SG cos I didn't even plan shit before going to Bali.
where got time to do so?! *fumes*
we had A&W for teabreak hahaha yay!!
My A&W waffle :P
walked around for about an hour before my mum called me to tell us to head back and get ready for dinner cos they booked a cruise for all the wedding guests.
so back we went to prepare.
my outfit for the night from Agneselle.
really pretty dress ^^ but abit small for me had to squeeze in and it took alot of work to get out of it. why their clothes always liddat one :(
Otw to the jetty
Onboard the cruise. The buffet table was right behind our table hahaha!
Wedding party
On the cruise
The bride's dress! Backless~
basically we just had dinner aboard the cruise while the bride & groom came around to greet us all.
my cousin in law very cute hahaha! "Add me on FB ok!" lol which I did la even though we didn't speak much throughout the days I was there.
I grew up with my cousin when I was younger but due to family reasons we got separated when I was around 5 or 6 years old and I've never met him ever since.
but I was glad to see him after so long la. after all, blood is thicker than water and we're family!
oh and did I mention they set off fireworks as the cruise headed back to land? hahahaha damn grand pls this wedding lolol.
went back to the resort and I finally took a polaroid with the newlyweds!
so precious because all my polaroids were basically taken away by my relatives and I was annoyed because I felt as if my purpose there was just to give them polaroids and entertain their requests to get such things.
I thought polaroids were built in the past as well, why you guys act as if never seen one ever in your whole life? FML can T.T
Hehehe I like my new clutch with studs from City Plaza
final day in Bali and woke up uberly late but in time for breakfast though hahaha.
the whole lot of us went out in the afternoon to do some shopping before me, dad and bf had to head to the airport to catch our flight.
my mum and her relatives extended their stay for 3 more days than us so they managed to see more of Bali than I did.
in the lobby waiting for more relatives to come down so we started taking pictures when I asked my aunt for a picture.
shouldn't have done so cos everyone kept asking me to take pics for them (I brought my DSLR along on this trip) FML
Here's my aunt, my cousin's mother whom I haven't met since I was 5 or 6
The whole lot of us minus the bf and 1 aunt + 2 cousins cos bf was the photographer
Wedding deco
Me in my TVD top
we went to Joger which is basically a factory that sells everything.
The sign outside Joger
funny like hell. bf and I were like "where's the monkey changer, where?!" LOL
then we got bored halfway so mum and I went opposite to see stuff and my dad came.
and made us walk all the way to Kuta Square again FML.
we went back to Kuta Square which is basically like 2 rows of international shops like Nike, adidas, Billabong, Roxy and Ripcurl.
I didn't buy anything except for some hair clips and sarongs for myself and as souvenirs for friends.
had coffee at Gloria Jean's before going back to the resort to head to the airport.
Nice mineral water bottle and my bf being stupid lol
went to the airport and had drinks + sandwich at Starbucks cos our flight was a night flight at 9.30pm.
so, here comes the KLM drama.
I was sitting there, in my seat, feeling a little cold for whatever reason.
so I asked a male attendant for a blanket because I had seen a woman getting one on my flight to Bali.
naturally, I assumed they would give me one because that woman I saw had gotten one right?
nope, stupid guy told me they don't give out blankets for flights that are 2 hours long.
mind you, I know that for short haul flights, blankets are not usually given out to everyone i.e. placed on our seats but normally if you ask for one they would give it only to you.
so, chao bugger told me that and I said but I was cold, so could I just get a blanket instead?
now here's the most pissed off thing I have ever heard from a flight crew.
"All flights are cold." and then he walked off.
CAN YOU IMAGINE MY ANGER WHEN I HEARD IT?! I WANTED TO MORPH INTO HULK AND RIP HIS HEAD OFF HIS BODY CAN TMDDDDDDDDDDDD.
was really angry like fuming mad liao and can you imagine the irony when I had just read in their in-flight magazine that their airline had won the Best Passenger Service Award?
pui lor. best passenger service my foot! so my flight was utterly ruined la.
chao bugger even had the cheek to come back to me and tell me he had told his captain to raise the temperature higher and was it ok for me?
I ignored him outright. practically didn't even acknowledge his presence.
you think raising the temperature got any use meh?! you show me a thermometer that shows me the temperature difference then I'll believe you pls!
he can bloody well repent and rot in hell for all I care but you just do not be so darn sarcastic to a paying customer ok you stupid man! asshole.
you could have just told me nicely that you didn't provide blankets and apologise for any inconvenience caused or smth to appease me and I would have just let it go la you douchebag!!!
typical case of the lack of knowledge for proper customer service.
just quit your job and go back to being your arrogant self la chao nan ren TMD.
my dad and bf had to answer on my behalf while I just looked straight ahead and ignored him.
so yeah, I tweeted about my anger towards KLM on Twitter and surprisingly they replied me lol asking me to elaborate more on my experience even though I didn't mention them directly.
I just talked about KLM but @KLM replied me if you get what I mean?
so I sent in a 4000+ worded complaint to KLM customer service about Changi Airport staff and especially about the stupid male attendant.
first time ever in my life sending in a complaint letter and over a stupid incident.
all I can say is: stupid stupid stupid customer service.
of cos I got a reply that they would improve their service blah blah blah but you can jolly well bet that I will
never, ever take your bloody airline ever again.
because of 1 black sheep. actually those staff at Changi Airport I could have just forgotten about it because I really did when I returned from Bali but because of that chao bugger on my return flight I was sending in a complaint email then I thought shun bian talk about the Changi Airport people la.
so moral of the story: do not go for airlines which have crappy service because they ruin your flight, ruin your image of them and cause you to turn into a really angsty person and have to send in email some more.
ok, end of KLM saga. time to move on.
so that concludes my Bali trip.
I really wanna go on vacation where I can really enjoy myself and eat, shop,do whatever I want.
hopefully without any restrictions from anyone la.
bye.
